Does anybody have any scoop on when these should be available? I'm really wanting a single stack 9 with Glock characteristics and this would be the closest I can find. Everyone loves the XDs 45, I want to try the 9. But, if they don't ever hit the shelves, I'll just get the 45.
I put about 100 rounds through mine and am really happy with it. I was a little nervous about buying something without being able shoot one first but so far can't find anything I don't like about it.
Good shooting looks like fun. The guys hate when we set up stages because we change things up form the normal run to the box and shoot crap. I may copy the cart and spool next time if I can one.
I shot mine for the first time yesterday. I love it. I haven't shot anything in six months and didn't do too bad. I Only put a box through it though.
One stove pipe though. And it doesn't like the extended mag. I think the sleeve that goes over the mag to make the grip extended is to tall and it doesn't allow it to seat fully.
Investigated the failure to feed issue a bit further, I think it has to do with cartridges with a shorter OAL, and possibly something to do with the Hornady bullet profile.
My XDS 45 feeds Speer Gold Dots without an issue. Haven't tried any Hornady loads, but if I run across some I will.
This is why you always try your carry ammo in a gun before carrying. I'm shocked at how many people I know that will buy a gun, throw ammo in it, and carry it without ever firing it first.
OH MY GOD YOU'RE GOING TO CARRY THAT WITHOUT HAVING 17,429 ROUNDS THROUGH IT!!!!! :teehee: Knowing you, you will have at least a few hundred I'm sure anyway.
What's your preference? The Shield or the XDS? I carry an M&P40c when I'm not carrying the XDS-45. I know the Shield is identical in size to the M&Pc, but just a single stack.
The Shield is a bit smaller than the c models in the other dimensions as well. Barrel is 1/2" shorter...
I like the XDs better. Trigger is better, sights are better, no thumb safety, etc.
Rumor is that Springfield is modifying the trigger on the XDs though, so I hopefully it keeps the same trigger pull when it returns. If not I may be keeping the Shield.
Here I was thinking I'd be getting my gun back in a week or so, based on their original timeline, and now it is just sitting somewhere in the same state I sent it in.
I wonder why it is that their XDS' have this problem, but the XD's and XDM's dont. You would imagine they would use a similar system, just making it skinnier.
im sure most already know, but updates every friday
