Does anyone know where I might be able to have a amigo(electric wheel chair) repaired, cheap. Or even buy one.
My best friend is paralized from the waist down, and his amigo just up and quiet on him. he took it into a repair shop and they wanted over $600 to repair it. I'm not sure whats wrong with the dang thing, but I'd like to help him out or maybe even suprise him with a different one before his 27th b-day thats in the second week in April.

check ebay or maybe have the motor rebuilt.

My brother has a insulation blowing machine he bought and the motor for it is over $1000. He retro fit some furnace motor with the same exact specs to it for free. Lots of those little electric motors have off brand manufactures and stuff. They don't count on medicare or old folks being creative and penny pinching to fix it on a budget. I bet you can get a good motor for $100-200 and install it your self pretty easy or with help from someone on the site.

Ill ask my brother, he knows of a place here in metro detroit that has electric relacement motors for everything.

If your interested in the distributor for all the small electric motors pm me and ill get the info from my bro.

it's the electric wheel chair, sorry I guess I should of been more specific. I'll call him tommaro to see exactly what the repair shop said was wrong with his electic wheel chair. I was trying to find him one or get his fixed with out him knowing, but thats all right.

we could find a motor with a little more RPM and HP, fab some new brackets and maybe even a coilover suspension for the $600 a shop would charge him to fix it
