I have a cheapo black hawk nylon holster and a OldFaithfulHolsters hip holster. I like the Black hawk one better even though its cheap junk because I prefer to appendix carry it. The old faithful kinda contradicts the small gun with a huge holster.
Any recommendations on a good appendix carry holster for the xds?
I am looking into the Harwell clip-n-go and cant find a bad review.
I find appendix carry difficult with all but my 38. I like the leather/kydex hybrids on the kidney expect for the width of the leather but a buddy got a nice one from Nate squared tactical N82tactical.com. Worked good in any position.
I carry mine everyday in a DeSantis Soft Tuck holster. Bought off Amazon for around 20$. I tried a few of the more expensive styles and didn't like them in the end.
I'm going for something leather possibly part kydex too. But not sure what might be the best route to go. that's why I'm asking to see what others recommend for appendix carry.
IMO, if you go all kydex, something like the www.multiholster.com should work well for appendix carry. Bonus is hes located here in MI. Ive never personally been fond of kydex in a holster... Its to stiff for me.
I am a huge fan of http://www.ubgholsters.com/. I did recently purchase a "Striker" OWB holster with the 3 slot option of try appendix carry with an XDm, but my XDs rides in a "Canute" when I carry it IWB. The quality of his holsters, for the price, is outstanding.
Also, quality for the money, is http://www.winthropholsters.com/. Not sure on the appendix options, but I have been pleased with their work and it can be found on Ebay with no "8-44 week" wait time.
EDIT:
I do also have a Remora and I have used it.... But I prefer to have my holsters attached to some article of my clothing. Personal preference.... But the Remora does do what its supposed to and does it well.
That incog looks nice, its kind of pricey though. I was looking at the Crossbreed appendix but came across the harwell and liked it better because of the less bulk.
I am thinking I might have to go with the Harwell. It has less bulk and is reasonably priced plus I have read good reviews. Only thing is I would rather a metal clip.
I guess what I am looking for is something similar to the harwell but all leather formed specifically to my gun with a metal clip.
I just remembered these guys. I have no experience with them, but their prices and wait time are a bit more reasonable if you are willing to give a little on having the holster molded tightly to the gun.
Thanks again, these guys are a little bit more in my price range and the quality looks there as well.
