1987 Kawasaki KLR 650 Electrical problem

So I am driving to work yesterday and lose all power at about 55mph. No power at all for about 5 minutes. Then it miraculously starts back up and I am on my merry way. Get on the Eway does it again. wait about 10 minutes starts back up with a lot of cranking. Turn around get off the Eway stops for good this time no power even after I got out of work. Go out this morning undo the battery hook it back up. Starts ok, ride it for about 10 hard minutes. Does the same thing twice. I am thinking it's the voltage regulator, but I am no mechanic. PLEASE HELP. can I test the voltage regulator? could it be the ignition switch? what else might be overheating? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks, I've been checking the grounds. I am taking it in in the morning to have the coil, cdi, stator, voltage regulator checked I appreciate the input and I'll let you know the outcome

Turns out it was a god damn corroded fuse box. I've got it running like a champ now, thanks,
Mike

good to see your up and running again. just an FYI for you. Kaws are notorious for not using weather proof connections. I would suggest to you to use dielectric grease in all the connections where any water can reach them. it will help in the long run to stave off corrosion.
