Biggest Tire for Dodge axles ??

Maybe this belongs in the axle section ??
I ve got a dana 44 and a corp. 9.25 out of an 87' dodge ram Im wondering how big of tire these things would hold up to.. 35's ? 37's ? 38's ? Got a Stock buick 350 Th400 and dana 20 t case..
This rig will never see anything more serious than the mounds and sand dunes.. MAYBE badlands but im sure id stay off the rocks

In a full size truck, I think 36s would be a nice size. 38s are about the limit for those, with the heavier vehicle, a little scaling back is in order.

35's-36's under a fullsize. Anything bigger and you will have problems.

Even with 36's your going to have to be nice to it.

Yeah, I would say that locked with 36's might be pushing your luck if you're a gassy :tonka: wheeler. Waggies have a lot of steel on them.

I have been running over a 38" tire on mine for 3 years now and my truck has been through some serious stuff. The only problems I have had were with wheel bearings. The rear end has never need a repair but then again I change my fluids about once a month. I will never say a bad thing about these axles. If you ran a locker I could see where you would have some issues though but that can be expected from anysize tire if your testing the truck hard. Just my.02
