Suburban inside door panel removal?

I need to replace the driver side mirror on my 99' Suburban. How do you remove the small panel(triangle shaped) behind the mirror? Is it just clipped on? I've pulled on it pretty hard, but it doesn't seem to want to pop off. I don't want to try any harder and break the clips....any easy tips?

If its anything like my s-10 I had it comes off with the rest of the door panel... easiest is to get one of the removal tools from the store, they are only a couple bux, it lets you 'try' to reuse the clips that hold the whole damn thing on. My dad just replaced his mirrors as the motors went out, I can call him later and ask.

It's held on by Christmas trees (small barbed retainer)

Remove the trim panel from the door by completing the following steps:
Using the J 38778 , carefully pry the retainer from the door.
Pull upward in order to release the extension from the trim panel.
Remover the retainer from the extension
