Trailer Brakes...

I have heard 2 different things about old trailer brakes. I'm not talking surge brakes but electric ones. I have heard that there was a type of electric that simply wired into your brake lights and used no controller. I have never seen one like this. All that I have seen had to wired to a controller because if you hooked it to your brakes it would go to FULL LOCK every time you hit the brakes. Anyone know anything about this so called old style?

I guess it would be like surge brakes...duno.

But these look like they need a controler. They have a maget the sticks to the drum and that applies the brakes. So off to the store for a controller I go.
