How many have Dove Tailed their Samurai?
I Know I will catch shit for this, but I am thinking about losing some over hang in the rear as well as Dove tailing the back of my LWB. I am thinking of removing about 10" off the rear of this thing and then once that is done having a good look at the lines and possibly Dove tailing it to make it more manuverable. The departure angle is not really that bab, but losing the extra will make it great and it will be a lot easier to get through some of our tighter trails. I am just looking for good detail shots if anyone has done this. I will attach some photoshop (yes I suck at it) shots to give you an idea of the final Cage plan.
Current Set up. ![]() The Chop. ![]() If it were not for the fact that my kids love going out with me, I would look at just making the cage look almost pick up like and not worry so much about the rear, but I have already been over once with them in it, so I want to make sure they are protected better. |

Trust me both rear corners have been tagged many times, there has already been some trimming as needed, the body is not that great. Besides if I go SWB then I have to stretch it almost 20 Inches to get to where I am now. That and I have a SWB parts truck sitting in my back yard 88.5 that I have been picking away at. Needed her windsheild as a Temp after my last flop, I have to get the Fiberglass windhseild Frame repaired.

Try http://www.zukikrawlers.com. They have a build up page in the forum section. Check out Tuki Suzuki. The guy dovetailed his SWB and converted the swing open tailgate to a drop down like a pickup. Lots of pictures, very good workmanship. The guy has an index on page 1 that shows what page each mod is in. Right know the thread is close to 30 pages long.
