Rear Tire Swingout Latch

I am to the point in my rear Bumper/Tire swingout project that I need to figure out what type of latch I am going to use before I go any further. I would like to see some pics of your setup and tell me why you like it or why you don't, what would you change? Thank you....

Here's mine

The latch is a DeStaCo latch that i ordered from McMaster Carr, it's stainless steel and rated to like 700 lbs. It's positive locking. I like this latch and wouldn't do anything different if I did it over.

The hinge is a rockstomper spindle hinge. it works perfect and i wouldn't change it either. if you havent' selected a hinge I would HIGHLY recommend a rockstomper hinge.

The whole thing

Search McMaster Carr for "Draw Pull Latches" for several choices

I choose the one through McMaster Carr cuz the ones I found at Grainger weren't Stainless. Personally I think having the Latch be stainless and cost twise as much is totally worth it. I think I had to pay about $45 shipped to my door for mine, about twice as much as reg old steel.

why dont you use a quick pin system, like on the 3pts on a tractor. you have your pin, like the draw bar pin, and then there is a snap ring/ pin i would call it. Thats how i was going to put one on mine.
