I thought about swapping a diesel in my XJ for a while, but I was looking at the 3.7l TD that's in the euro Jeep Grand Cherokees. I decided against it because the lack of a real frame just didn't sit right with me if you're pushing 400 ft pounds... I may be way off base though.

it's not the lack of a 'real frame' so much as the particular design. bracing is a good idea on xjs/mjs but can be done well.
