I have had issues where the shaft spun in a housing and couldn't be held. I drilled a 1/4" hole in the whole thing and dropped a bolt in it and then it was held so it could be serviced. then when done you can screw a grease zerk in the hole of the sleeve and plug the hole.

try to get one side bolt removed, then replace with really shorter 1/2 long or so w/ lckwasher and retighten, then get the opposite side loose. easier to get short bolt out last. good luck don't go to short and pull the threads out eh !

I have been lucky and the impact has always removed them. If you can get one side out you can use visegrips to hold it and remove the other side. Then just smooth the shaft and reinstall.

good luck...I know these can be a PITA.

piece of advice, once you do get it apart, coat all bolts with anti-seize to make future disassembly a breeze
