Fun with Axles

Ok so my axle is screwed. I have been tryin to diagnose it since it started in January. '94 Cherokee. Its not a central disco axle, so we can rule that out. Only clatters/slips in 4wd, and at higher rpms. I got under it and checked the DS, seems to be ok, spins freely. Rolls fine in 4wd and neutral. Slight clunk in t case, maybe the chain is loose but I cant think of any other variable. Ideas?

The chain could be skipping causing the clunking noise.

X2 something in the tcase you might need to split it and take a look. the front axle you could be missing some teeth on the spyders.
