Sylvania SilverStar Ultra

So since i have a hard time seeing while driving at night, especially when raining, i decided to search for a headlight upgrade. I didn't want lights that appear super bright, blue, or greenish to oncoming traffic. So i ended up buying the Sylvania SilverStar Ultra night vision head light bulbs, and they are awesome! Super pure white light, lights up the road great. They are kind of pricey...$39 AFTER $10 mail in rebate. I was planning on returning them if they were junk, but to me they were worth every penny, night driving is no longer squint to see for me. Mailing off my rebate in the morning!

Do they make these for fog lights too? I haven't been able to find them.

I want to throw some on my car but I don't want my fog lights to be a different color/intensity.

Um so you seriously spent 800$ in one year on headlights? :miff:

I have em now seem to work great, and have been goin strong for over 1 year.

however when I tried the capsule ones (not the big sealed beam) on another vehicle they didnt seem to be all that bright...

Hell if I know. It's been too cold to start poking around and checking things out on my car yet.

I don't even know what the underside of my car looks like, much less where the oil filter is and it bothers me.

i've got them in my WJ and my Wifes Honda.

LOVE THEM

Wives have been in for 2 years, mine for 3.

when you were blowing them, were you touching the glass envelope when you installed them? that is bad.

I also have used them in my YJ for several years, even back when it was my DD and loved them

Have them in my vehicles and love them. My wife was very happy when I put them in her vehicle as well. Night driving is a lot better with the added visibility.

How do you figure $800 for 8 bulbs?

I've had the regular SilverStar headlights in my XJ for almost a year and I like them a lot.

I just put them in the XJ what an improvement!! Really helps driving on the twisty mountain roads! They were $20 each but worth every penny so far!

Is your system surging and blowing the bulbs for some odd reason (are the silverstars more sensitive, or do they use less power)?

I'd guess something odd is going on beyond the bulb's control...

Anyway, I think I have these in the seXJ and they are fabuful.

I have them in my 87 F250 and love them. They were in my Bronco II first so I think they are going on about 3 years.
