I actually dont have a problem with anti bully legislation so long as it accounts for real bullying not teen guys being guys. I was always one of the biggest guys in my grade from kindergarden to graduation. I was ocassionaly picked on got in fights, either became friends or whupped ass and made them eat their words. So this is not my ralley cry for kids that i feel sorry for cuase i got my ass kicked .... cause honestly i never got it kicked. (EXCEPT by my dad who regularly layed the smack down on me)
I think as long as its not enforced silly, like the sexual harassment stuff where a kindergardener boy kisses a kindergardner girl ONE time is expelled.
Or anti drugs, where a girl has aspirin in her back pack from a sleep over or something and is expelled. Unfortuneately legislators want zero tolerance to look tough, and administration in the school want to either ignore stuff and sweep it under a rug, or sometimes with out reason make an example. They are not good at being responsible. They want to do what makes there job easier, not what is best for the kids getting bullied. The kids getting bullied are collateral damage. Its ok to them, its a necessary evil because its too difficult for a school administrator (in their minds) to limit. They would rather just not sweat it. Its only a few % that get really bullied.
My recomendation is make sure your kids arent that few percent. TEACH them to fight. Some martial art training starting in kindergarden. Try not to fight but ohh well if it comes to that, whup ass all over 3 or 4 guys at one time and no one will mess with you for a few years.
I personally would want my kid just to know how to fight and defend himself, and if someone trys to rough him up, he can go nutz and kick someones ballz into their stomach and knock their teeth out like the good old days back in the 80's
