I bought leanz a nuvi 200 for 330 bucks a while back. returned it, and bought a nuvi 650 for her for 299 from costco.

Its great, easy to use, and half the price of my street pilot.

The only thing about the 200 is the fact it doesn't say roads

What jew mean gringo. Turn by turn doesn't tell you the street? Mine shows streets as you travel, but just says turn right here. I'm happy with my 200, I've have several Garmin GPS's for 10 years, will continue to buy Garmin products. $250 at best buy

It shows streets, but doe not say the names, as in talking the names.

its a big difference, the voice announcements means you don't have to look at the gps.

I just bought a Nuvi 200 sat at Pep Boys. $199. I liked the 250w my father had- the wider screen is nice, but not $100 nicer than the 200. I always mute the voice anyway, and disagree on the route more than half the time, so I don't like to hear the darn thing begging me to turn at the next three streets after I pass up the one it wants. :tonka:

I used to disagree also, but then I learned that it is usually right.

thanks guys. yeah not too concerned about the voice directions as he would get pissed at that anyway. Like I said just a basic mapping system is all we wanted to get him.

These gps you speak of, do they even have capability of plotting or just a bigger screen to make way to the mall?

You didn't see the back roads it tried to send us down to get to Rose City. :tonka:

It tries to send me the wrong way down a one way street when I go to my GF's house, and gets all pissy when I refuse, trying to send me down the next three cross streets.

I have a Garmin GPSMAP76C for hiking and in my truck. In my Jeep and on my bike I have a Garmin Zumo 550. And I just bought my dad the TomTomOne for $149.99 from Circuit City ($158.99 with tax)...as a basic navigator for his car/truck. It is a really nice unit for the price. I was looking at the TomTomOneXL and the Nuvi's on the side...and like was said earlier...the larger screen is nice but not worth $100 more for the "nice-er-ness". He has an old Garmin eTrex Vista to carry around for hiking/biking.

I bought the significant other a Nuvi 260 (same screen as 200 but speaks names of streets for turns, etc...) for $289 at ABC.

I'm a Garmin bigot (I have three others).
