Yamaha Warrior
Looking into a 2000 to 2003 Yamaha Warrior for the girlfriend. What is the good, bad, and otherwise that I should be looking for. What should I be looking out for. What fails on these. They don't seem to expensive, which kinda makes me nervous. Why are they so cheap?

They're not very popular thats prob why theyre cheap as for yamaha's i havnt heard anythin as far as a common problems.. Just check the chain for stretch look at the bottom of the frame to bends or cracks to make sure it wasnt beat on too bad.

My buddy had a 2001 and he loved it, we changed the spark plug once and just the normal maint. and it was an awsome machine. Just like Mclovin said, check the frame for cracks and bends, and check the swingarm bearing carrier for slop on the axle. look at the front shocks, if it was rode hard then there might be some stress cracks by the shock bushing eye's. my buddies broke whene he was riding it, all in all they are a good easy to take care of machine.

carb boots were a problem poor design. not much money but just make sure its not rotted out or "saging".other than just normal bushings, rear axle bearings, and overall condition will determine the price. but good starter quad and the quad was the same for so many years parts are very easy to find and cheap. hope my rambling helps

I have used to have two now I have one, I traded a 87 which didn't have a starter for a 94 z71 4x4 LOL now I only have 1 my wife wasn't too happy that I traded her four wheeler...LOL....oh well
I have not came across something bad on mine yet. I Have a 93 and it's more reliable than my buddies 660. Of course he can get up the hills in the snow, where I have a problem , but I am using stock tires in the winter and holeshots in the summer. Goes through anything, we go to the mounds everyother weekend. I take mine wherever by buddy takes his 800 polaris 4x4....I've only been stuck a couple of times due to the ruts from big 4x4s I love mine.... |

I own a 2001 that my wife rode. It's for sale(look in veh for sale).only problem we had was when we first bought it brand new it wouldn't run right but we took it to the dealer and there was a recall for a loose electrical wire.Other than that it's been a good machine. The only reason we are getting rid of it is because we had a baby and my wife wants to keep my old 4x4 for her and the baby and let me get a new 4x4.

they discontinued the warrior in like 02 or 03. it is now the raptor 350, same power plant as the warrior but in a downsized 660 chassis. nice quads i have one. good one for the wife or if you want a good trail sport quad.

I have a 2000 Yamaha Worrier runs great, only one problem and that was the starter. Replaced it and it was fine. It is not the fastest quad around but it goes down the trial great. It is 4 sale if you are still interested $1750. Only thing is the chain needs to be tightened, does anybody know how to do that.

it is easy to do it ...on the back there is 2 bolts that through top and bottom of the axle they need to be loosend up then turn the adjusters ...
if you need mor info pm me and ill walk you through it and warriors are great quads and lots of upgrades you can do to them.. but get rid of the stock rear tire and put on a set of holeshots or shredders ...or the razors..well worth the money and you will love how it hooks up after that |

we got an 01 warrior, and I put a dg exhaust system on it. Sounds sweet, but already had to make a quiet core for it to bring the sound level down and put my own spark arrestor on it. We got it cheap because the thing wouldn't start, blew the ignition fuse. He found a new fuse, thought it was the right one, but it was a 5 amp instead of a 15 amp, blew it again, so he figures there was a wiring issue. I put a new fuse in, new chain, battery, and cleaned the carb, and it just runs awesome. Thanks for the input guys.
