Ford info... Who cares?
well I wanted to write tech artical about something I knew well, seems to me that would be fords, chevys and dodges, but I need a subject? anyone got any ideas?
I could post a bunch of redundant stuff about axles but that gets boring. but I'll do some for ****s & giggles |

ok, how bout this for ford tech. i have a 1990 f-150 with the tried and true 4.9 straight 6 in it. it has the smog pump on it, and where it ataches to the exhaust had been cut, pinched and welded shut. is there any reason to keep the smog pump hooked up now?

if you don't understand what smog pumps do then heres how it works....
the smog pump is set up to inject air into the unburnt gases in the exaust, it then ignights and burns hotter when reaching the catylest. it then able to make the cat work more effectently by burning hotter. so with that said the air pump only promoates effecency in the cat, so if the cat is gone the pump does no good. |
