Cover your rear

If your interested these cost me about 6 bucks each to make .

1/8 plate can be used for the base but if you happen to have an extra cover for your diff simple torch the outer bolt ring off and build onto that .

Used solid steel rod wich can be bent with a short piece of pipe and heavy hammer to mold the shape you want . Bolt the ring to the diff before welding on the cross parts to make sure the torch has not warped it . If you get done and it wont bolt on your screwed .

First bar tacked in place to make sure bolts still lined up .

Finished

Now instead of simply denting the diff cover you will break your dana 30 in half :tonka:

could you jsut possibly weld on the little tubes on to the diff next to the bolt holes? would this work?? while it is on the axle?

NO , you can pull the cover and do that . The dana 30 has a strong cover plate which would work well .

The rear one is a Ford 8.8 and is thinner . you could still weld to the cover ring but be careful to not burn thru .

Now DONT weld it up with it on the diff . Remove the cover or ground could pass through bearing rollers creating pits that would take out a bearing .

If you have an old cover for your diff use it . cut the bolt on ring way from the round part . test fit this and grind as required to fit nicely . this will increase the strenght of the cover .

tack the cross bars on lightly and test fit again . then weld it solid is and easy way to build these .
