I'm pissed, "recycle bin" this thread in advance if you please....

today the cops i so strongly support tried to screw with my family and ended up in a round about way tangling with my girlfriend, hence me...so here it is...my bother works for my dad and they where on a job site here in town. This Cop pulls up and tries to write my brother a parking ticket cuz he is like two inches over the line of the "no parking passed this sign" sign..so my brother walked out there and hand pushed the mj backwards a foot or two so the cop couldnt write him a ticket and went back to work...the cop it would appear already had run the plate for an address and drove right up here to the house ( my brother also headed this way shortly there after so we kinda think the cop followed him up here or as stated already had the address and just came up here) anyway my brother gets here and catches the same cop at the end of our alley, he comes in the house and talkes to me, so i look out side and see the lil orange stickers stuck all over the back of my girls wrecked ZJ that i am trying to fix (albeit slowly, due to financial stuff), apprehently i am breaking city code because her vehicle is not in "running" condition, I have the zj covered with a car cover in the mean time, so to estblish his case he got out of his car and started looking under the cover for violations WTF?

when the F-ing cop wrote the violation he took the time to make sure he crossed out the part of the city ordnance that would make the vehicle "in compliance" with city ordnance...he crossed out the qouted section.

the city ordnance as copied from the violation paper states that the
1. vehicle must be removed "or have a valid license plate installed by" no later than 8 Am 3/11/06 or the city of rochester will Impound the vehicle.

..what a joke.. i got half a mind right now to wait a couple days and see how far he really wants to go with this...seems i have a leg to stand on, the cop cant "adjust" the ordnance to fit his whim...i bet the judge will read the "whole ordnance and see it from my perspective...i may be wrong..and there are easier ways to handle this...

unfortunatly he stuck 2 of them stupid orange stickers to the paint job instead of a frickin window. suck...i smell a vandalism complaint to the city...

cops are above the law!!!! Dont ya know that??? Just ask any one of them and they will gladly tell you that the laws do not apply to them... and they can break any such law at will in order to gain finanacial benefit to their jurisdiction or outright harass anyone without cause. In this country anymore we are guilty unless by some miracle we can prove otherwise.

There is good and bad in all systems. Police are no different. I know Rochester is a very uppity town that doesn't like anything that doesn't fit their ideals of the perfect town. Kind of like the Nazis.

But if I'm reading it right and he modified the city code to write you a ticket I guess I would take it to court.

I once took a parking ticket to court. It was a $35 ticket and I had to appear 2 times. I was a co-op at the time so it probably cost me over $100 in missed work and gas to go. But it wasn't about the money, it was about principle...and I won.

All of the police officers who I meet, especially Auburn Hills police, are cool as can be..

M.schaeffer, the way i veiw it, is how you are reading it...he crossed out the section of the ordnance (a pre printed paper, in which he only had to fill out minimal stuff, dates etc)..that would make the vehicle legit....what a bunch of bull..

i tend to get along with cops real well in light of my military background. every once in a long while i run into the asshole and that fires me up more than anything...its the only thing other than writing stupid tickets that keeps me second guessing the idea of joining them

I've dealt with this before. If its registered and insured, all you have to do is show that it can be driven. In many cities, they are not allowed to look under or touch anything on your property, which is how I was able to store a parts car in plain view in Grand Blanc for so long.

It is a police officers job to interperet(sp?) the law and enforce it. Its not their job to change it or make it up. Crossing out lines of an ordinance is changing the law.
