Dumb transfer case question

OK, I am a Jeep guy. Let's just get that out of the way first. Anyway, here is my dumb question: Is it true that a Sami transfer case is "divorced"?

I think so. That just means that there is a driveshaft between the trans and the t case.

Yes they are divored and the power is run to what would normally be the front output. The front and rear driveshafts are perfectly inline.

Good info. Next question: Is it a clockwise or counterclockwise input when looking from the front?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it is clockwise, like most vehicles, so you could actually hook up most 2wd engine/transmissions to this t-case.

I've seen a few mazda rotary engines, and they used the mazda trasmission to I believe...

Yeah, thats the standard route, to use a 2wd transmission to swap other engines in there. You just make a teeny little driveshaft between them.
