Street Legal not required INSURANCE IS REQUIRED

Apparently this subject has not been brought up openly so i need to clear this up . I would hate some one to tow a rig up here for nothing so please read and heed . The course is no match for a built trailer queen any way .

On the property where the gig is held you must valid proof of insurance . This is an insurance issue with the property its self .

Any one operating a rig on the property may be requested to show proof of insurance to property owner is so requested . If proof of insurance can not be supplied said vehicle is parked with no exceptions .

" none insured rigs are forbidden on the private course "

I do not care if you have working lights , a blinker or wipers . This is about insurance should any accidents occure . There for by street legal it boils down to plates and insurance and some sort of resonable exhaust system . no open headers :tonka:

I don't need an updated tag on my plate to put insurance on my Jeep. Is this an issue with insurance or on-road legality? I'm not sure I want to buy a new tag for my Jeep just for the pig gig....

And if your insurance company is going to make my insurance company take care of property damage, or personal injury... what is the point in having insurance for the event at all?

By property damage if you mean running into my house or some one elses auto you need to be insured its that simple . This protects you as well unless you would like a personal law suit for damage your insurance would cover .

Banging into a tree well to bad on you . This is for the protection of all who attend .

To answer your last statment why sould MY insurance pay if you do something dumb ?

The big concern here is rigs moving all over , on the course it is forseeable that some one or some other rig could get banged into . That is not up to property insurance to cover it is an auto insurance item .

I didn't ask about an exception for insurance. I asked why I need to have updated tags if I can get insurance without them.

Marv, is it ok if my jeep has full hydraulic steering, and doesn't meet the rules for street legal vehicles because of the bumpers? I also have an illegal amount of lighting on the front of the jeep. I also am not sure about the legalitys of my fuel cell. And I don't believe my harness system meets dot standards.

edit> and yes, I'm being serious.

ANd you should really look into the whole "licensed rig" issue, because I know of some people who are planning to go who don't have plates.

As far as I knew, license plates is a fee to use public roads, not for use on private property.

Why is this such a big deal? I do not think its to much to ask that you all have insurance on your vehicle for the sake of everyone comming. Including yourselves. Its a no brainer for CYA...

I am not concerned about plates persay its the insurance that must be there .

Lights , bumpers none of that bothers me . My insurance person said that the rigs running here need to have insurance on them for my own protection .

insurance is my big concern for obvious reasons . You dont update your tag i dont care . Ill reword this thread .

That makes total sense. Alot of rigs don't have license plates because they don't see the road.
