Hey BDR wanna race?

So Friday afternoon around 3ish I started to tear the motor out of my bike ('05 Victory Hammer). The plan was to gain an extra 20hp from their newly reintroduced Stage III kit.

So after fighting their overly complicated engine mounting I got the motor out in about 4 hours. I then spent 45 minutes installing new cams and buttoning the motor back up. Then the next 4 hours went into reinstalling the motor, new airbox, and redoing some wiring and routing to make it work. A quick reflash of the ECU and a double check of all the bolts and it was running. I drove it home in the rain only to find a slight miss at low throttle application. Later that evening after the rain went away I went back and calibrated the TPS.

I then went out and gave it a good 50 mile test run. The verdict: I fully believe the Victory claims of 109hp and 114lb-ft cuz this thing rips!

So the word is I can expect to run high 11's in the quarter. So how about that race?

Sure, I haven't even been on my bike since early June because of my back. I'm hoping to do some riding next week. Your getting closer to what I dyno, 116 Hp and 119 ft-lbs. But I also have a few hundred pounds more than you!:tonka: The Victory dealer around the corner from me has demo rides every Saturday and they go right by the house, Man they have some cool looking bikes.

i'm up for a good race any day...

even if I lose.

If I really wanted to win I would crack the motor open and buck up for a stroker kit and some 10.5:1 pistons with ported jugs for $5000. Then I would get closer to 125hp and 130lb-ft from a 106ci. I settled for the $300 option.

Are you talking wheel or crank hp? Your 2 fiddy puts out more spee-cific HP than that. :tonka:

Wheel HP...

My 250 probably makes more hp per cc but it also revs to 13000rpm and needs to be rebuilt more often.

lol, my wife's crf250x needed a new head at 13 hours; our friend's 05 WR250 has been run without coolant, a crankcase full of swamp water and a torn intake boot and still is in spec for compression, leakdown and valve clearance.
