micro sd or just the software for city nav

I just picked up the garmin 76csx and wanna know if the preprogrammed card is the way to go, or will I be just as well off with the software on a larger card?

Basically I dont know what the hell I am doing...

wa wa waaaaaa?

Do you mean either buy the North American City Navigator on micro SD or get the disc and download what you will use on a blank card??

I don't know....I bought the micro SD card from Garmin when I bought my Vista CX and it works great.

How is the 76csx?? I may want one of those for the better antenna...my Vista doesn't do that well and it looks like I damaged the mini-USB input on the unit...won't work now when I try to run off a cigarette lighter or plug into my computer.

It depends on what you use it for. I love city navigator and I am getting a 2gb micro card for it very soon.
Personally, the maps that come with the handheld units aren't very good at all, you will want to upgrade to either metro guide or city navigator.

You have two choices. Spend the money on the software and get a microSD card to hold it all. That's the expensive route, but you'll have everything on your computer as well as your handheld.

The cheaper route is get the 2gb pre-loaded microSD card. You'll have 1gb of freespace on the card, but won't be able to sync maps (just tracks, waypoints, etc.) between the computer program and handheld. I have the MetroGuide North America for my 60csx. It has the entire continent with all the maps, POI, and all that stuff.

I only use the computer program to saves tracks and waypoints, so getting the software and card wasn't the best choice for me.

Do what works best for you.
