Why because the old ones would wear out a chain that cost $30? Sure you had to open the case to replace it but it's not like they grenaded all the time. The new ones only have problems if you run water in them for long periods of time.

I have two Kaws 750 Brute force and the older 650 Praire both are belt driven and do just fine. great suspension on the Brute and very fast, both machines can take up to 27" tire without mods and both will serve you well. the most you have to do on the belt drive is shim to adjust from time to time.

I hate to say it but Honda's trans suck. they have not evolved to keep up with the market in perfomance. they have little to no down hill engine braking and have no low range in the trans to support bigger tire kits. if you plan on doing any serious off roading they also have the worst suspension of the bigger quads and ride like a big garden tractor. I was following my buddy on his Honda all weekend when I had my 325 polaris and it was like he could run away from me in the flat straights but he was down to a crawl in any whoops...all he was missing was a mower deck.

Belt driven is great, just not the best for deep water unless you move the air intake and exit up higher. And if you like deep thick mud and big tires you might smoke a belt, but if you use it and dont abuse it too much they are great. Mine pulls wheelies nicely.

I have a 2003 Yamaha Warrior for sale. Very low hours and great condition. Recently had an oil change and tune up. Garage stored...all stock parts. One owner.

Here's my ad.

i love my kodiak 450...goes through anything, will pull a truck, can tow a 1500 lb boat no problem. the beltdrive system is unsurpassed because of it's no slip design, granted it does lack in power alittle bit with my bigger S.S vampire tires on it but it's all good.

my boss has an 05 articat 600 or 650 with the v-twin kawasaki motor. prolly the most bad ass 4x4 quads ive ridden. wheelies no prob goes through anything. pushes a shit ton of snow (the 500 cc model) i like em alot. its a toss up though between the 500-600(650?) cats or the grizzly though.

I ride an 06 Suzzie 700 King. Those damn things are submarines, i swear. Water, mud, snow, you name it. Absolutely no complaints on the Kings.
Actually thinking of selling mine if anyone out there is interested.
