Cleanup tips and tricks
These are a couple things I have learned to make cleaning a rig or daily driver easier.
Cleaning Seats... Mix a little bit of liquid detergent (Tide) in a spray bottle with water. Spray the mixture on your muddy/oily stains and rub with a towel or soft brush. You can use a hose or a wet towel to clean the spot up but the hose makes the whole seat wet.
Washing the interior... Hosing the interior out is easy but getting the water out isn't. I use boat drain plugs in my floor to keep water out and to let it out when it gets in. You can find these at most marine stores and marine sections of Wal-mart, Meijer, K-mart, etc. Simply find the lowest spot in your floor and drill the appropriate size hole for the plug you bought. Now when you want the water to get out you just pull the plug! It makes is easier to get large chunks of mud out as well. The XJ's had factory plugs that when removed required no drilling.
Cleaning the underbits... set a sprinkler under your Jeep and walk away. Come back in an hour to see it's progress. This isn't the most effective way but it's like having your own Mexican. You get to sit back and drink beer while someone else does the halfassed work. When your done drinking hose off the brakes, joints, and other muddy crevasses.
That's all for now!
