Pinion angle whats ideal

I have a 85 toyota truck with 12 inchs of lift. Both my pinion are off i think. I was woundering what the ideal angles are. Is the rear pinion supossed to be level or pointing at the tranfercase? Never really had any vibrations from the rear when it was almost pointing at the transfer case but i think it was putting alot of streace on the ujoints and driveshaft ears, because i have dropped 2 rear driveshafts now and nether were from abuse. One going down the highway and on the dunes just driving around. After all that i reshimmed the rear so now it is closer to being almost level, but now i have a vibration. Not sure yet if it is because that or for some reson the front drive shaft is cousing all that. Now i am temped to cut off the purches and reweld them on to get the best angle possible if i can figure it out. This is my daily driver also.

The rear, should be the same angle as your rear output flange, unless you have a CV joint, then it should 1 degree below the line of the driveshaft.

The front, you will screw up your caster if you try to change it. I'm having the pinion rotated upward I believe 4 or 6 degrees on my new housing that's being built right now to help out here.
