Any body know anything about Blow off valves?
I have a recurrulating one and non of the air is going back to the astmoshere cause they had a little nipple thing which look like a nipple to a gauge or something so I plugged it? Was that a bad idea?

they go PSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH when you shift
sometiems they dump into the Exhaust, others go into the Atmosphere, It blows the excess off when coming down in RPM's fast so you don't blow your **** up. |

hehe, well I put on a greddy BOV on, yea I bought it right away before I read more about it cause all of my other turbo cars I put this on. (just cause I got hell of a deal if I bought everything together. I read that teh stock one should hold pretty good. See like you said the stock one is all closed off and does not have vent to atmosphere. So I have my air comming into the BOV from the turbo and another airline going back into the turbo cause its a recuirculating BOV. See but then there is another nipple on this thing. Looks like it could be for when you need a vacum line, say for like an gauge or something. And I figure if the stock one was totally closed off I should totally close this one off :D, hehe bad idea or good or what, Car has been running like this for a while seems to be good :D just wanted to make sure I wasning ****ing it up you know

I'd check a Scooby forum.
You have to sometimes be careful. I forget the air flow metering setup on the WRX, but what can happen is the air has already been metered when it goes though the recirc valve, its already calculated into the amount of fuel thats being injected, venting to atmosphere can cause it to run rich and lose power momentarily. But like I said, don't know specifically about the WRX. Most of the time, my contact with WRXs was watching them get smaller and smaller in the rear view mirror of the SRT... |
