Trxus MT as Tow Rig Tires...

Ok, I need new tires on my tow rig. What does anyone think about running trxus MTs on my tow rig. They are a LT285/75/r16 10ply tire...

My concern would be tire wear rate on a heavy vehicle.

But I don't have these myself. Thats just something I've heard about them..

why do you need truxus MT's on a tow rig? You like buying new tires every 20-25k?

for a tow rig you want the best road performance possible right?

go with a BF Goodrich A/T if you want a good tire on the road and somthing to help you if you need to use the truck as a recovery vehicle, just my opinion and observations.

I agree , BFG is a hard to be tow rig do all turck tire . I get about 60,000 on a set with my Dodge dually 4x4 . Came with Michellians that only went 40,000 and not near the traction of the AT BFG

I have the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos on my Duramax. I like them. They have 30k on them and they still look like new. They also have like a 60k mile warranty.

my next tire will either be pirilli scorpion At's or yokohoma geolander AT's. The BFG at's on my wifes rodeo ride alittle harder then I want in my truck, and the are about $40 per tire more expensive then others that i like.

At 70-80 psi, they all ride hard..

buddy had truxus on his duramax, lasted 8k miles.

I have the REVOs, 10k so far, wearing very well.

i ran pirilli norsemans i got around 60 k out of them. and they had great traction. only thing was they whisled when the roads were wet. i dont belive they make them anymore. or if they do i cant find them. but they were a good tire. and in the normal price range.have you thought about cooper? i know they make some good tires. not sure on the milage or price though. just a sugestion

I ran my stock BFG Rugged Trail TA's for 62,000 miles. I only replaced them because they had some sidewall cracks and BFG gave me $500 off a new set of them. They had 9 or 10/32's all the way around. Probably would have gotten another 15-20k out of them. Of course I would love to have something with a little more rugged tread pattern, but I can't beat the on-road traction and performance of the Rugged Trails.
