Is the sensor for the speedometer located in the rear axle (Chrysler 9.25) or the transfer case for a 1995 dodge ram 4x4 with 5.2L?

I think it was '98 when they changed it so the speedo reading came from the sensor in the rear diff.

your abs is off the rear diff, and yeah they did combine them around 98, but before then it is on the outputshaft, and yeah, its there.. btw that sensor can cause your truck not to run.... if it gets oil on it.

It's not a running issue - I'm pretty sure I blew out the Lock Right locker in my rear axle

I was spinning the tires trying to get off my road when it was snow and ice and caught dry pavement. As soon as I hit the pavement everything disengaged, the speedo shot all the way to 120 and it just made these extremely loud ZZZZZZZZZ noise. Then it slammed like whatever was spinning caught and it moved.

Now anytime I go to get moving while turning and give it too much gas it'll do it again. Occasionally at speed you'll hear a metal clunk and it'll jerk to the left or the right.
