Toyota tuning

Does anyone know of a good shop that knows toyotas... Especially the 22re. I would prefere a place near bay city, not a dealer and better yet someone that just knows there stuff.

I'm having trouble with it running smooth off idle and up. Sometimes it runs great all the way through... and will even pull strong on the highway up to 90mph. in 5th. I mess with the timing and it does nothing. But i haven't found the t terminal and haven't been able to short that..? is that causing all my headaches?

Also I pulled the plugs last night and 3 of 4 had carbon build up. Checked all connections vacuums and electrical.

Also the canaster that is for emmisions on the passenger side near the firewall. Has a vacuum that heads to the throttle body and a vent to the gas tank. the vent to the gas tank has gas coming out of it... like its under pressure.

Would changing the sending unit and pump fix the problem?

ok enough of my rambling, please help my toy id getting the best of me.

P.s. the intake and head has been ported and polished. header 2.5 inch exaust all gasket matched.

kyle... the mass air flow sensor has been played with on that truck and that is alot of exhaust for it to...try to find another mass air flow and put that on and go down to a 2 1/4 exhaust...also if you mess with that fuel tank at all be careful because its a frankentank..had to do some welding on it at jeremys so you my be better off looking for a tank..i know where there are some parts...not me at the bone yard i found that has some decent parts...also there is place in bay city that dose fuel injectors also he checks them and makes sure that there all running the same

I switched mass airflow sensors... i had mine in from the 4runner and then tried yours... didn't make a difference. We should head to the junk yard sometime. Also get me the number for the injector place or the name. And umm i've heard removing toyota windshields is almost impossible... if not i'll buy one from you.

Also if you need parts let me know im sure i have extras as far as getting the 4runner going.

Hey,
If you need glasswork, talk to Tim VanWert at VanWert Glass. He's a great guy and I know he can do it at a reasonable price.

Don't forget:

www.car-part.com

This website can save you some time.

A guy I used to wheel with was a pretty good Toy mech. I haven't seen him in a few years. Roadhouse might know where he is at these days. Tim had ared 87 XtraCab on 38s with a 22RET(turbo) a few years back.
