Manifold Project...

Got this for the cost of shipping from a member of Dodgetrucks.org...

I figured it was about time to change the plenum gasket anyway, so I may mod the intake a little as well.

Now that I got a better look at the plenum, I think I'm going to make a new cover out of aluminum, and cure the factory steel/aluminum issue.

Also thinking about cleaning up the inside a little. That center divider is only found in the EGR manifolds.

Here is the bottom side of a 5.9L EGR Intake Manifold.

More to come at a later date

This is the one I have on the 5.9 I swapped into my '96 ZJ. It's a 1/4" aluminum billet plate. I have never heard of one of these leaking. The stock plate is a POS.

Since it's a flat plate with some holes in it, I'm going to save my $100 and make one... I don't see any issues with that so far...

Nothing better than saving money and doing it yourself. This project is worth the effort.

When you are done with that, you should throw a dana 35 back in your YJ.

That is if you don't use all your turd polish up.

Monkey, That manifold is complete garbage. The M-1 style is a ton better it losses no torque, and gains 30hp on the high end. I've seen the original dyno runs.

If anything I would cut off the 3 mating surfaces, and make new runners(aluminum and epoxy). If you do anything else you are wasting your time, and turd polish.

You have skills and could make something decent, but do your self a favor and don't waste your time on the beer barrel manifold.
