Granholm signs tax cuts

I know many here think she sucks, but I think this is a good thing she is trying to do.

Tax cuts = cutting other things.

Lets take a guess what they will cut.

If you read/listened to the release, Granholm acknowledges that this is just a band-aide to postpone the decline in manufacturing jobs. Granholm still is working for a future Michigan that does not heavily depend on manufacturing for it's economy. And I couldn't agree more. We need to diversify the jobplace in Michigan or we'll all be sinking in economic depression in the near future.

Note to the blue-collar manufacturing folks in the audience. Go back to school now and learn a trade.

How can a state that has money problems afford to cut taxes?

After cutting taxes you cut school budgets, highway money, etc.

I'm not a fan of Granholm but she is taking some steps to try to prepare Michigan for an uncertain future.

With the american auto industry failing there is no doubt it will drag down the entire economy, but will Michigan feel it 10 fold because so much of what we do here is related to the automotive industry?

Seems like even things that aren't directly related, resturants, electronics stores, boat/snowmobile stores, etc... will all struggle if the automotive people don't have that disposable income anymore...right?
