I flat towed my cj3a with my XJ, no problem.

Just depends on where and what you are doing.

Last weekend, I helped some mexicans who were pulling a trailer with 4 horses with a 318 dodge.. burned up the motor pulling the Jellico Pass in Tennessee. Probably was fine for them for some stuff, but the heavy use killed it.

Again, just depends on what you are doing. That setup down a mountain grade would be scary.

I've seen worse. A KJ tow dollying a spring over CJ7, a different KJ towing a CJ7 on a trailer with no brakes, and a KJ tow dollying a TJ. I once towed my 19' Century Ski Fury with a Rampage (the boat was inboard semi deep V with a 440, and no brakes on the trailer), but if you tell anyone else I did it, I will deny it. :mifff:

Seriously, the issue is is whether you can stop the load, not just if you can pull it.

But scottie i think your set up is fine. but if u start wheeling that thing harder and go with bigger "equiptment", step up to a trailer
