given that it made of alluminum its probably not rated high enough for the class IV rating that you would need for a 2 5/16" ball

Aluminum is not stronger than steel, no matter what. Depends on what type of steel, but even heat treated and aged aluminum does not have the tensile strength that even low grade carbon steel has. For what the price of that thing is...almost 200 bucks. It would be easier just to buy a few different tow bars and balls with the sizes you need.

I picked one of these up at Meijer for about $45. Fully adjustable even with the trailer attached. Flip the ball over for even more range. Seems to work well.

True, but aluminum is less than half the density of steel.

Google search for rapid hitch, there are a ton of them out there.

http://www.tjtrailers.com/store/hitch-accessories.html

http://hitchsolutions.com/rapidhitch.html

Double ball features reversible 2" and 2 5/16" balls. 10,000 lb. Trailer GVWR and 1,500 lb. Tongue weight.

I personally would probably not run one, but It definatly would not be sold by just about every trailer accessories shop if it was strong enough to be used.

how do you like it?? i've been thinkin about one of those.. but they dont seem very strong...
What are they rated at ? edit: just found it.. "Maximum Gross Trailer Weight (lbs): 5,000" i think ill pass on that.. the 10,000 seems more appealing to me..

I didn't need a very heavy duty set-up for the rear hitch. If I need anything big, I just do this:

http://www.turnoverball.com/turnover/pics.htm

That's good for 30,000 lbs.
