OK, school me on what I need for an TH350 swap!

Alright, I've been on the fence about what to do with my Toyota. Now I have a line on a TH350 - toy case adapter for a great price, and I have a complete 4.3 TBI motor/harness/etc in my garage already, so I'm thinking to drop in the 4.3 and a TH350. With my dual cases, and 4.11 gears, gearing will be EXACTLY where I want it with this combo, in terms of matching my rpm and shift points to the powerband of this motor..

So, I have a complete motor, and will get the adapter. I have the original flex plate from the motor, which should have been a 700R4. Will that work for the TH350?

So, what do I need to get, then?

TH350 (I believe I'll need a 4x4 version, gotta check..)
Torque Converter
Shifter

what else?

Does this need a TV cable or whatnot?
Trans cooler?

I don't know a damn thing about automatics..

The rest of the swap, I'm not too worried about. But I have no real experience with autos in this way.

Thanks!

tv cable i havetn had one for a year and a half but i heard your trans will last longer with it

trans cooler most deffinatly the biggest one you can fit

flex plate go buy a new one from auto zone there like 40 bucks

shifter spend the money and buy a art carr they are worth it trying to use a rachet shifter offroad is a pain in the ass. especially when they get dirty inside.

tourque convertor - i would have the trans rebuilt before you ever put it in its well worth the money even if you just give killer b 100 bucks to open it up and check it, when you do that pick up a new tourque convertor there cheap also

Is there a reason the stock flexplate won't work? It was the original one for the motor. Or is the bolt pattern for the converters different?

Yeah, I figure I'll be talking to Bill about a trans, assuming I go through and buy the adapter..

i think in order to work it would have to be a dual pattern flex plate

OK, so I'd need the trans, shifter, detent cable, *possibly* a new flex plate, new torque converter (lockup or non lockup?), and a trans cooler.

That correct?
