Tuffy does not do alignments

Just so you know . . . Tuffy thought it was a good idea to stop doing alignments on anything that has been lifted do to the extra work involved.

I hope for their sake that extra work in other areas does not cause them to continue to loose maket share.

On the flip side the Metro25 is $44.78 and only $26 to get the wheels balanced

I might actually make it to the trail run on the 13th!!!

Anyone have a ZJ U-joint style front drive shaft laying around??

He said drivehafts. Which use double cardan joints, which are two regular old u-joints..

Haven't seen any modern driveshafts that use a constant velocity joint.

They are nice in my toyota. Smoother than u-joints at lock.

Oh Jesus you misled genius

The First picture you have there is of a Double Cardan Joint also known as a Cardan Constant Velocity Joint or CV for short. The second picture is also a CV joint known as a Rzeppa joint which is the final design of the Tracta and Weiss joints all of which are CV joints.

The term CV is not a design but an engineering term for the way power is transferred through the the shaft.

If you own a 95 zj they have a wierd ass front D shaft , perhaps other years too .

I've got a few leads from there. There is supposed to be one up in Claire but there was supposed to be about 3 other parts that I needed from that same place and they didn't have them but I'm going to try once again.

The JK uses two in the rear at the axle and one in front at the t-case.

Some ZJ's and WJ's have a cv joint on the axle side of the front shaft.

Or just get a regular d30 yoke and find or build a shaft the right length.

nope my 95 has a normal dshaft. I believe it was the quadratrac ones that had the weird cv dshaft.

93-95 is when the ZJ had a u-joint and the pinion and a double cardan joint at the TC. The transfercase did not matter. Once 95 rolled around they started mixing in a CV joint (grease filled rubber boot) at the pinion. 96 and on, they all came with a grease filled rubber boot CV joint at the pinion and a double cardan at the TC. The WJ used just about every combination of these two joints, grease filled rubber boot CV's on both ends, rubber boot at the pinion and double cardan at the TC, and finally u-joints at both ends as well.
