Good Place to get spindle/hub assembly

Went to TSC and they didnt have anything left in the kits, to buy it separate was almost double... I plan on going to Ritchfield trailer supply locally, but was wondering if anyone else found them reasonable locally. This is for the tire carrier I am going to build over christmas hopefully.

just for a tire carrier? I can think of a couple different ways, one, use the spindle, 2 use a square tube with a plate and the lugs bolted in to it, and then there is different variations of the 2nd one

For the hinge. You never heard of this before? Use a spindle/hub assy with the area the studs normally are torched off and ground down. Weld the 2x2 to that and the spindle to the bumper you have your swingout tire carrier. Cheaper then buying a pre-done hinge online normally

I went to the Owosso one, my buddy said normally they are like 35 bux, but when I was there all they had was a spindle and a hub sold separately. I have no idea what part # I am even looking for.

Well with the local hub you still have to cut the flange off and make it pretty... With the rockstomper it comes with a machined sleeve all ready to weld on. I don't know how you plan on cutting it and making it look nice unless you have a steady torch hand and a belt sander.

IMHO it's worth the extra $15 or so.

15 just for the hub, 15+ for shipping, 30+ bux, 30 bux is worth an hour of my time especially when I have a week off over christmas. This is how we have been building the ones we have done, doesn't take long at all, and cuts down unneeded cost. If i really was that worried about time I can take it to my mom's work, her boss lets me use the plasma cutter.
