360 engine ?

question is will a 1987 360 short block work in a 1994 zj with the zj heads, intake, ect. i just dont know if the bellhousing bolt patterns are the same and the mounting of the heads and intake. also what about the motor mounts?

any info would be nice,thanks

not if you want to keep fuel injection. the crank sensor is mounted on the bell housing of the magnums. if you wanted to use just the heads and buy an intake to put a carb on you need to use amc lifters for the different oiling system and then figure out the ignintion but im guessing you would want to keep the fi. they would bolt up the same to the trany though.

i think 360 mag short blocks are only like 1300 through sumit

More trouble than it is worth. The aforementioned CPS will keep this from working, as well as the valvetrain. 360s are externally balanced, as well, and the later onse are balanced differently than the early ones. Get a Magnum 5.9.

yep thats all facts , newer motor including your 94 is a roller cam too . I looked into older heads for my 318 and was not doable . Magnum motors like to crack heads due to there design .

Yeah, don't junk it because you can't use it. That's what WeGotMud is for. :tonka:
