looking to get my certification for MIG

just wondering what the requirements are, and how it goes and stuff....

Im taking a vocational class to get certified for structural steel and pipe welding for ARC. Im not sure about mig but i know that we have the certification papers for it i dont know the exact require ments but its something about being able to do a v grove butt weld on 3/8 plate in the vertical horizonal and over head positions

i hold many cert. and getting a code cert in mig is an easy one. unfortunatly it wont hold much water with a shop as they will make you test for them.
your basic certs that you can get in school mean nothing as you will be made to cert per process of code requarmen per aplacation. some codes make you preform a vertical down pipe weld with 5p+++ with a certan # of passes at defined heat ranges . the point is you will need to cert up pe job and prob re cert yearly
