There are a whole bunch of them over at the armory here in the soo. I would suggest you go get them at night though...and be quite.

Bill my buddy has two sets and wants to get rid of one. I believe the set he wants to get rid of is one steer unit, and one rear axle. He is keeping two steer units for a project. I'll check with him this weekend to see how much and what condition they are in.

Bill you might want to do some research on the Rockwells. While they sound like the beefy be all end all of axles they are prone to failure with the tire size you are going to run and definatley at the horsepower you want to run.

I started thinking I was going to run Rockwells and 53's...but I did some reading and guys have big problems with blowing out shafts and u joints. You have to go with the aftermarket stuff if you want them to live and that gets to be big bucks.

Where around here do you need 53's?
You realize that with that much weight and that crappy ground clearance you would be WAAAAY better off with 60's and 39's... or 44's and 36's.

I mean having a huge rig is a personal preference... but where do you plan to wheel?

I hear there are tons of them at overrated.com.

Just go find a D80 rear and build yourself a D70 front.

woodward cruise :tonka:

if he'd learn how to wheel, D60's wouldn't be any problem at all.

best quote by Bio ever regarding his jeep "I'm not that hard on my rig"

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Check the latest Auto and RV. If I remember right there is a set of them for like 1800 or 1900 bucks.

My bet, he's jealous of four by ken's big block blazer on 44s that will never run, so he wants a big block jeep on 49s with rockwells that will never run..

Bahahahahahaha...

maybe i'm the only one on here that has built a truck stricktly for mud. i see jeeps on 38's with lots of power go through just as much as a fullsize on 48's, but only if the jeep has narrow axles, keeps them out of the ruts. when it comes to mud, high horsepower and big tires help a lot, but if it is a multi purpose rig, big is not always needed.

:)

thats me :)

except 37" tires

The more I read, and the more I learn, even dana 60's are a waste of money.. I was going to be one of the cool cats with some dana60's, until I found out that a lockers alone would run me 1400+... I am building some kick ass 44's for that price...

But then again, I drive very conservatively... Funny thing is, I make it just as far, and usually farther then the guy who "motors" to his destination...
