I'd really look at a new head before supercharging it. The whole point to forced induction is to get more air into the chamber, and overall, the 232/258 heads didn't breath all that well..

I'd go with a 4.0 head or even a whole 4.0, there are superchargers for them, if I was to do it(which I wouldn't)

$$$$, though, no matter what. I'd go with either an AMC V8 or a Small Block Chevy..

You can build a sb chevy.. AND super charge it for the cost of a supercharger for the inline 6

You should look up Jeff (Cobranco) on the MJ board. He is right in Zeeland. He built several Superchargers for late model TJ 4.0 258 I-6 (he owns a machine shop and fabs up his own brackets, mounts, etc). He might be able to help you and it would be significantly cheaper than going with a KB or Avenger, etc... if that is a factor for you.

I've personally seen his setup and it's top notch. I believe he was running around 6lbs of boost off of an Eaton blower.

HTH, Good luck.
