ford probe

I know it isn't a truck, but it is a 95 ford probe with the 4 banger and an automatic (talk about slow) but the overdrive lite just started flashing and i've been told it started to run bad as well while this happened. does anyone know why this light might be flashing. it is my dads back home, and i'm trying to get an idea of where to start looking at when i get home.

The autos in those cars are garbage. Blinky OD light usually means death.

The cheapest option would be a manual swap. It's documented pretty well at Probetalk.com your question probably is better answered there.

I was big into Probes before I got my Jeep, but I never had an auto so I'm not much help there. Any other questions about the 2.0 or 2.5 I can most likely answer.

The MX-6 has the same trans also.

Probes, MX6's and 626's have identical drivelines. Slightly different suspensions though.
