Fires, runs and stalls

A Co-workers truck is at home, he was broken into last night and cannot get it to stay running now. Says it fires runs for a second and stalls.

Its a 1998 S-10 blazer Any particular wire that may be cut, or something damaged that would do this?

When they broke into it. Did they rip off the radio? Cut the harness? If so it could be that the map sensor wire harness was cut.

Or they could have cut the main feed wire to the fuel pump/ SO it only gets fuel in the "start" position and loses power in the run position causing it to stall.

Or, if they tried to mess with the ignition lock cylinder and it uses one of those keys with a chip they could have messed up the sensor for that.

That was what I was wondering.. if the pass key setup got damaged..

With a Chrysler, it will start with any key, then die after 2 seconds. I got into a bit of a debate with them when I was in the network group. I pointed out that you could still operate the starter which would allow a Jeep to be driven onto a trailer and stolen.

Ended up being a coincidence the fuel pump was bad, but thanks for the help, he got to work finally

I do believe the harness for the radio was cut/ripped I will tell him to look at that if it happens again over the weekend, but he made it to work so it probably was just the pump.

I need to check that on my Toyota, it just started doing the same thing.. starts then dies after 1 second and won't restart.
