tj heat selector issues and repairs

your tj stuck on defrost?
heat only work on certain speeds(if any) ?

Im going to look up my vacuum lines but i do have one problem, I have 4 ports for vacuum lines to go into my intake manifold but only 2 hoses coming out. the open 2 holes are plugged but i do not know how many im actually supposed to have being used. why in the hell would i have 4 ports for only 2 to be used.

The manifolds were designed for multiple applications.
Some vehicles use the extra ports, others do not.

is there a way that i can find out what i am/am not supposed to use? i have a 97 tj with ac and a 2.5 engine.

Where are you located?

Has anything been messed with before?

Do you have a current issue
(say heat not working right) that you are trying to solve?

Not that im aware of, i bought the jeep in feb/march of this year during the week when the temps werent so bad

yeah, the blower doesnt blow the heat out of the right vents and im looking to see where that problem is, the heat also doesnt blow so hard. when i switch the selector switch to cold though, the air blows good but still doesnt get redirected.

your problem is probably one (or more) of three plastic arms for the vacuum actuators that controll the vent doors.

they are located under the dash, near the level of the heater controls, on the driver's side.

Mine broke, and I was stuck with the default defrost mode.

I added red arrows to a factory servic manual pic. They point to the plastic pieces theat break internally and cause the condition you described.

i found one of the broken arms, now i just have to get the time to fix it in the next week. it sucks getting my 6'4'' frame in there.

I'm 5'10" and it's a pain. I pulled the plastic and the metal panel off under the steering column. It hepled a little.
