Front axle Options?

i will be workin on my front axle soon (dana 44) i will have manual hubs so road driving will not be an issue.

I cant decide weather to use a locker or spool. who has what or who likes what. and why do you like one over the other. my situation is a locker is expencive and a spool is not that expencive.

Spool in the front= headaches on tight trails. (Not to mention what it can do to axleshaft life)

i had a detroit locker in a dana 44 before with 456s and 39.5x15 tsl and i loved it.i got a mini spool in my dana 44 under my cherokee with warn premium hubs and i like that to.

a mini spool is about 200 bones if i remeber correctly

i figured people to say some stuff about auto lockers. but im looking for a cheaper route. you know im a broke college kid

Um.... a lock rite is an auto locker..

Just run a lock rite and be done with it. If you have to ask questions about whether you are 'ready' for something, its usually a no.

I run a rear spool, front locker. I know people who do run a spool up front(welded). Myself, I'll stay with the locker for now, until I can find a hi pinion e-locker at the junkyard...

i never said anything about ready. Why would i ask you if i was ready or not. I think i asked who has what setup and how do they like it.

Would you consider a spool in the front or would you think that is was not a good idea at all?

however i could bring my air filter over so you could tell me if im ready for a new one it's starting to lose its white color:tonka:
