Yes you can.

You will need to add a seal to the passenger side of the D30, however.

I did this years ago by modifying the housing to accept a driver's side seal, but I know there is a part number that will work without modifications.

Lol... you just want credit cooter I have a part # for a seal that will work without grinding the housing. But the grinding is the better way for it is a better seal.

so far i have got the part number of the seal which is a national seal pt#40576s (thank you killer B) im just waiting untill tomarrow morning for it to come in. and i have a passenger side axle shaft out of a 98ish TJ.

here are some pics
old axles:

drivers side seal stays the same

Add and passenger side seal if you want to grind the housing and put the correct seal in the PT# you need is a timkin 710068 or the same and a TJ axle shaft seal

if you dont want to grind the housing like me you can use this part# national seal PT#40576s harder to find these seals came in older jeeps with axles like the dana 27 and a few others. but you will not need to grind the housing
if you go this route i stacked 2 seals together to make a better seal. but i did need to grind the outer seal metal surface to make it easyier to fit in the housing.

here is the vac disco housing. i would take the old bearing out of here to make a little more room for the new shaft. as for the seal im going to leave that because i really dont care.

more pics to come when i get the seal

what you should've done...... Welded the spider gears together up front, instant spool.
Convert the Vacuum disco to a manual and wala... instant ARB
