$255 1-ton Steering Instruction Sale!!!

Finally finished up the instructions for installing 1-ton steering. Figured we may as well have a sale so people can proof read them for me, and see if anything doesn't make sense.

Why are you calling it one ton? All that stuff is Chevy 1/2 ton and Dodge 1/2 ton parts.

The drag link TRE's are were used on GM ½, ¾ and 1 ton K series trucks.
The tie rod TRE's were used on GM ½ - ¾ ton K/V series trucks.

They both have the same thread size and similar body sizes, but the drag link TRE's have a deeper taper.

Why do we call it 1-ton? Because it's our product and we can

The ES2010L was never used on a GM vehicle. Period. Dodge Dana 44s were it.

The draglink ends (DLEs) were used from 73-91 on all GM fullsize 4wd.

The tie rod ends (TREs) were use from 78-91 on all GM fullsize 1/2 and 3/4 ton 4wd.

All of the parts you're using are 7/8-18 thread. 1 ton parts are 1-18 thread.

A Saginaw steering box will bend a TRE-size reamed ES2233L so I can only imagine what an 1/8" larger ream job is going to do. Have you guys tested this? It's great that you guys are offering a relatively cheap inverted-T steering setup but I don't know if using DLEs was a great idea.

Thanks for the tech.... we don't use 2010L's on anything we sell.

It's a only 1/16th larger ream on the 2233L, and it still has plenty of meat once reamed.

In fact I run the same style steering on my personal rig.

What gives you the impression we thought of this setup last night at the bar?

Is this gonna fall apart in 2 years if I don't do any maintenance on it and don't properly install it?? :tonka:

Actually, have any idea on what shipping would be to St. Clair Shores, Mi 48081? I was gonna build the same thing, but this is a good price.

If I wanna run it over the knuckle, what else needs to be done, is it just relocating the sway bar links?

$25 to ship it.

Over the knuckle you need to relocate your sway bar end links, clerance the coil buckets, and move your trac bar mount as far as I know. I have not done an OTK in the shop.

Let me do some measuring for an OTK setup. I would assume the passenger side TRE would need to be reamed from the opposite side as well?

Would like a JKS track bar reloacting bracket work, or is it more extensive than that?

We've been running this set-up on Kimbajo4's Rubi for about 14-16 months as a daily driver. Absolutely NO issues with it what so ever on or off-road. It is some serious beef. I have it on my Scrambler as well, but would have to wheel it in order to have a valid opinion on it there. The wheels still both turn together when I move it around the yard or in the barn.

I see what you're doing now that I went to your website... why didn't you just put a bend in the draglink and use a 2010L?

Is that it? I could've swore it's closer to 1/8". I just reamed to fit a Superlift 1104 arm and I swear we went an 1/8". Maybe it was only 3/32".

I've bent a ES2026R on my blue truck (33s/4" lift) with stock push-pull steering and a stock Saginaw box. It bend by the head. I bent another one barely in the threads but I don't know if that was due to a heavy impact or steering it.

Somewhere I have a picture of a bent ES2233L. I reamed an old one out (lots of spare 10 bolt tie rods lying around) and hooked up my draglink to it (I had crossover with a Sky arm). The steering box bent it and it didn't come back. This was turning my 40s on concrete. Maybe Moog or somebody else makes stronger ES2233Ls than OEM? I did it to prove to my cousin that it wasn't a great idea. All I was trying to show him is how the tierod deflects and the action from the draglink tries to loosen the jam nuts. I didn't think it'd bend the TRE since I've seen so many people use them like that.

No, not that at all, just wondering what made you go this route, especially with the DLEs.
