97 Ram 1500 brake issues

Ive been having problems with the brakes on my Ram. I just replaced the booster, and bled the brakes, but the brakes still feel spongy and the pedal wants to go to the floor. The brake and abs lights also come on when i drive for a few minutes, is there something else thats wrong or that Ive forgotten to look at?

Did you adjust the rear drums?

check the drum adjustment if that dont cause it have your ABS module bled. or get ahold of a scan tool and bleed it.

As far as I know on the Ram ABS system there is no bleeding procedure. It's only on the rear anyways. Just bleed like you would any other brake system.

Look at the front axle and see if one of the ABS sensors has broken off the hub - very fragile design, common problem.

I thought the ABS in those body style Rams was only on the rear?

Dodge may have did what Ford used to; have rear ABS on all pickups even if the customer didn't buy the "full" ABS system.

Probably because the buyer didn't check 4 wheel ABS on the build sheet.

Older Dodge trucks came standard with rear wheel ABS. It uses the ABS for the rear brake proportioning. Instead of the old school load sensor that many trucks had.

Here is a fun test. Pull your ABS fuse. Slam on the brakes in the rain. Watch the rear pass the front. Ask me how I know

LOL. I'm givin' that a shot.

My truck isn't that old though, it's a 2001, last of the 94-2001 body style. I'm glad I don't have 4 wheel ABS...I'm not a fan of it.

Nope. You suck at Dodge, Mr. ASE.
