I was planning to buy Pirelli scorpions, but there price recently went up and now they are in the $130 per tire neighborhood.

IMHO, you can't beat BFG mall terrains for mileage, traction and load-range. I run 235/85-16 BFG m/t's and paid about $500 out the door at Belle Tire (mathing a quote from Sam's club). They are load range E andmost ppl I know with mall terrains get well over 75K miles on them.

BTW, Brimy311, I love you.

<edit>
also, the mall terrains get my 6,600 lb F250 2wd through the snow with no problems. Previous Michellin MTX tires would strand me in 3" of snow!

I don't.

All I did was call my local Belle Tire and told them I could get 235/85r16's mounted for $116/ea at Sam's club and they verbally met the price over the phone - I stopped by after work and had the tires installed the same day.

I've got no reason to B.S. anybody on this board; give it a try. Like I stated, it worked for me.

i paid 110 out the door for my bfg a/t's at discount tire...they matched kumho a/t prices at the time...and they honored that price for me over a year later too-by the way, my buddy runs bfg a/t on his 2500 dmax, and hauls his chevy 1500 with 35's on a trailer all the time, with no problems...he loves those tires, he won't run anything else on his dmax
