Crown Vic won't idle

Friends old boxy LTD Crown Victoria won't idle and dies when it's warm out. It has the EFI 5.0. Just did a basic tune up and that didn't help. Any 5-oh guys know what the problem may be?

I don't think that car has a working CEL. Neutral is same as park and drive.

Have you cleaned the throttle body and the throttle plate?

Also there is a filter under the pcv in the rear of the lower intake. these filters plug and cause excess blow-by into the tb, coating the throttle plate.

I can get you the motorcraft part number for the filter tomarrow.

Listen for hissing. There is a T-shaped vacuum fitting in the very rear of the engine towards the passenger side that is known for going bad. Take a look there.

My Crown Vic was a little newer, but I had an idle problem and replaced the TPS (throttle position sensor). Never had a problem after that. My 94 Bronco had the 5.0 also and I had to replace the same sensor on it. It would die everytime I was coming off the highway, especially if I had the cruise on. Nothing like driving 65mph and your engine stalls abruptly.
